Busyness

I’ve been thinking about this on and off – why some people always make a point of remarking just how busy and stressed they are (often with a sigh at the start or end of our brief conversation).

Why Only Yuppies Feel Busy: An Economic Theory – The Atlantic.

being the not-so-brilliant-conversationalist that I am, I can only add to the discussion, the random odds and ends that happen to me or else talk about the pretty skies that I couldn’t take my eyes off on the bus ride to work last week or the awesome band practice we had on thursday night till very late.  the awesomeness owing to our guests for the evening, local a capella group Vocaluptuous, and a new piece titled “Munnaeru Vaalibaa” which we will be premiering at the Esplanade 3pm this time next week.

p/s: Munnaeru Vaalibaa is an Indian song that we all learn to sing along to (in Tamil) back in primary school.  It’s also one of the staple Indian tunes when National Day comes around.  But this version we have the privilege of playing has potential to be a classic – its melody is distinctively Indian, there is a section featuring a Malay hand drum which gives a keronchong (Malay-style dance) feel, and a dance that builds up into a glorious frenzy (very Spanish in its intensity). and oh, there is the minor difficulty of the meter being 15/16.
