Escape of a muggy Sunday.
Kew of the East – they must be referring to this whole little island. There isn’t another place quite like our Botanic Gardens.
Not just the flowers that weave their spell, but the birds too.
When we played at the Symphony Stage, one could not help but be conscious that Nature herself was waiting patiently to hear us.
The sight of the green grassy lawns filling up with people was exciting. Wide open spaces kept us relatively safe from the human noises.
And when Joost Flach played the opening notes of the Glinka Overture for Band, the birds fell silent.
