a beautiful lunch

living in a city like this can make one forget what it feels like to stop moving.  surviving from one busy moment to the next, with only sleep and routine to interrupt the momentum of the machine.

but there is always beauty lurking around a corner, or in between the cobwebs of a life that you file away in paper folders, metal drawers and varnished lockers.

today, i spent the muggiest of afternoons sipping chilled pear tea in a sunlit kitchen on the upper floor with bamboo outside.  in the company of good people.  savouring the taste of food cooked with love.

the menu

starters

roasted tomato soup

broccoli and mushroom bread

main

ossobucco with risotto alla Milanese

dessert

chocolate eclairs
