white | damask

27 June, 2010 § 2 Comments

i had originally wanted cream-coloured paper for the book block but did not manage to find any with the right weight.

so i picked up some white fine grain Daler Rowney paper and have absolutely no regrets. it is such a joy to work with, feels wonderful to the touch and has a lovely weight. 120gsm gives a nice solidity to the journal.

amazing. The white stock looks fabulous with the black and white endpapers.

    Lovely work

the outer covers are actually an egg-shell white (with a pseudo linen-like texture) which seemed to work with the damask print and manages to contrast with the white book block.

i was so paranoid about getting stains on the book whilst stitching it up!
